June Income Report #36,752 + New Studio Set Up
June was the month where I was finally able to dive in and start shooting again here in Hawaii. I finished setting up my new studio space (watch the set up here), I photographed a beautiful maternity session at the beach, and started offering in studio sessions for little ones. I didn't give myself a ton of time between working hard in Florida and then moving my entire life here to Hawaii and although it was hard to get here and set everything up as quickly as possible, it feels incredible to have everything done and now have the time to start shooting more.
How I made $39,523 In May + Moved To Hawaii

Oh, May was ah-may-zing. April was huge for me, hitting one million in overall income, and in May I finally boarded that plane and moved to Hawaii. This income report is special because it's the first one I'm putting together from the beautiful island of Maui, my new home.
Lots of changes have been going on these past months, and you all have no idea how excited I am to be moved into our new home, and have a nice bed to sleep in again. The kids finally have their own rooms again, I have an office space that I am slowly putting together, and it feels SO good to live in a cozy home again. I did a little tour of the home HERE.
I have networked with some locals before my move and shot my last wedding just days before moving to Hawaii, so my goal was to make my move as seamless as possible. Right now I'm going through the process of setting up all the legal stuff for my business here in Hawaii since they do tax businesses differently than Florida and get all the needed permits to do sessions full time here.
April Income Report $36,205
The month of April was wonderful, and it seems like the month of May is going to be even more incredible. I officially booked our flights to Maui and set in place a lot of things for next month. April showers brings May flowers, and I think that stands true for business as well.
As I was completing my monthly income report, I'm calculating everything, and that's when I see it. $1,007,325
I just hit 1 million in overall income! There's not a lot of things that make me want to jump up in joy, but hitting this milestone is huge for me. It isn't about the money for me. It's about the belief that it was possible. I am the only person who knows the hard work, dedications, failures, triumphs, doubts and setbacks that came with making this happen. Believing in myself enough to lose all sense of limitations and realize that the possibilities are endless for me as long as I never quit. A girl with a dream who decided to go for it. These last few years have been incredible and it seems like every day I wake up, something exciting is happening.
March Income Report $38,880
HOW I MADE $32,338 IN MARCH
Plus what my strategy and goals are for next month. BONUS: Questions & Answers linked at the end of this article!
March was a blast. I completely changed gears, learned to put my feet up and realized that due to the amount of work I have put in in the last few years and the way I have my business set up allows me to do that. Years of hard work and hustling has gotten me to a point where when I need to take a month to slow down a little everything continues just how it should. I launched some BIG new ideas, one of them being opening up a private facebook group to add free lightroom tutorials to every month (if you want to join click here). I went on a mini vacation and swam with dolphins. And did some deep thinking about what I'm doing with my business. Overall it was a good month and I'm excited to tell you more below.

If I had to pick one word for February it would be: S-T-R-E-S-S-F-U-L
February has always been an off month for me and I'd be lying if I told you that these past few weeks haven't been a little stressful. Between paying $36,000 in taxes (yes you read that right) trying to get everything lined up smoothly for relocating my business to Hawaii, selling out home here in Florida so we can make the move over spring break has been a lot to deal with. But as always, creating plans and being driven forward by my goals is something Iove to do. Focusing on the future.
January Income Report $39,015
While putting together this income report I realized that I just hit $900,000 in overall gross income which is pretty incredible. For me running a successful business is so much more than just a simple number and how much I make but has everything to do with creating a dependable income that allows me to do what I am wildly passionate about every single day while also giving me financial security and freedom of time to pursue a life I love.
January was great, I felt really in control of how everything was going, inspired by shooting more, excited about my upcoming move to Hawaii. I overshot my overall income goal a little bit for this month which was a great way to start of 2017. I'm guilty of setting big goals, sometimes a little too big and then struggle with not getting all the way there. One of my personal goals for this year was to not over set goals, as much as goals are important it's just as important to be realistic about them and then celebrating them as they come and go.

This income report is special because it officially marks the end of 2016. This past year was incredible. I’ve traveled to islands far away to photograph weddings. Adventured to new places to explore. Photographed new life coming into this world. Taught hundreds of photographers how to create a profitable business doing something they are passionate about. Watched my 8 year daughter sell 11 of her abstract art pieces. Got lost in books. Cheered on my 4 year son while mountain biking. Fell even more in love with my husband. Made the decision to move my family to Hawaii. Lost 40 pounds. Learned more about myself and who I am than ever before. And all that happened in 365 days.

October Income Report $30,586
Plus what my strategy and goals are for next month.
This is the FIRST month where I publish my personal business income report. I spent all day creating these graphs to display all the data in a way that makes sense. I'll be honest, I got a little nervous about hitting that publish button. By making this information public I hope that fellow photographers, entrepreneurs, and business owners can follow along and get inspired to pursue what they are passionate about. What to include in print packages (strategically)?
Anything you love. There's a huge difference between people who "sell" something they love vs those who are trying to sell it because they just need to sell it. No one likes a sales person, and people will avoid using people that they feel are trying to 'sell them' on something they might not even stand behind themselves. On the flip side, when you see someone talk about something they love, something they believe in and are in all honesty recommending because they love it, people love it. They see the passion behind it. That person's eyes light up, and you can just see it. I don't care if you want to be a photographer who sells luxury albums, or prints, or one that sells them an online gallery with digital files as long as it puts that spark in your eyes. THAT'S what you want to include in your packages strategically. When you sell something you love yourself, it basically sells itself.
