Photography Business Success Class Spotlight Student | Nurture Photography
Natalie from Nurture Photography was in the first wave of people that signed up for my Photography Business Success Class and she has built such a solid business around the key aspects of creating a strong business and brand. You can see how her work and style flows into her website, branding and that everything fits together perfectly. She puts the focus on what she finds important and I know her clients love her for it. She creates some timeliness, beautiful portraits that aligns with her vision. Here's a closer look at some of her stunning work and insight on what she loved most about taking the Business Success Class.
I was born & raised in Southern California. I'm a mama to two wild boys, & enjoy our many random adventures! I love living by the sea & enjoying the memories my husband & I make with our kids.
My in home studio is located in Torrance, CA. Which is in Southern California.
Newborn & Baby Photography.
I've always been a baby hog, so it was really natural for me to transition to newborns & babies after I decided to pursue this dream of mine. I love that I get to spend hours getting to know a newborn & provide families with a once in a lifetime photograph that they can look back at in 60 years.
I loved the wealth of information I got. The PDF had great information, but it also goes beyond that in the modules the Elena provides. What I loved even more was the support I have received from the online Facebook group. This business can be intimidating, but it is so refreshing to see a group of women who help build each other up.
If you're looking for information & a support group to help start, or establish your business, this is the perfect resource. You will always be learning, even beyond the PDF. I'm so grateful I have found this class!
It is always such an honor when families have chosen me to capture their littles. That's a HUGE deal, & I never take that lightly. I love the relationships I have formed with my clients, & how I am able to tell stories of their newborns & babies in my photographs. I have a very simple & minimalistic style, but I strive to show their personalities in my images-- something as simple as a newborn loving to have their hands by their heads, or laying on their sides, I always ask mom if their is anything that stands out to them about their baby, so that I can try to capture it.
I used to struggle with marketing, & now I feel like I have a good grasp on it. One thing I have learned through this class is how important marketing is, now I know how to implement certain systems to make marketing easier. I also have many many ideas that I want to bring to life, so I know it will always be a work in progress!
I think my biggest strength is that I have worked very hard to establish my brand, & style in my photography. I have a very simple, pure & organic style. I always let my clients know that I work with creams, whites, & ivories. My clients come to me because that is the style that they are looking for, so I never have to worry if we are "the right fit." My clients always know what to expect with my work, & since I am really passionate about my style, I don't get any crazy requests that I'm not comfortable with.
The importance of contracts. I never knew the importance. Thankfully I have only had to refer to my contract a couple of times, but it is comforting knowing that if anything is brought up (within my contract), I can refer my clients to the contract. I use Elena's contracts, & have tweaked it to fit my business.
Saying no. That is the hardest thing for me to do. I love pleasing my clients, but there are some instances where I need to say no. I've learned this within the Facebook group, & through Elena. It's okay to say no to something, especially if it is something you don't offer.
I purchased the class when I finally decided to pursue photography. I wanted a class that was well rounded, where I could learn the most from. Time to time, I will still go back & read the PDF, just to refresh my memory!

IT'S MY FAVORITE! I'm part of many photography Facebook groups, but this one is my favorite one. The best part about it is that if I have a questions-- whether it pertains to photography, or the business aspect, Elena & the other members always answer. Whether it's how I should tweak an image, or how to word something to a client, I have always received advice & answers. It's my favorite part of the class!
My dreams are always growing! I want to conquer the baby photography world. I want to offer not only posed newborn, but fresh 48's & lifestyle newborn sessions. I want to be well rounded in each of those departments. I want to take this little dream of mine, and make it a huge reality.
